How Much Does Limousine Rental Cost?

You can always rent a  limo for a various range of special occasions, such as birthdays, school field trips, prom, sporting events, business events, concert attendance, bachelorette and bachelor parties, weddings, and much more. There are also different types of limousines you can choose from, such as SUV limos, stretch limousines, classic cars, and luxury sedans. Limousines can serve as a transportation back and forth between two places during an event. It can also be one way, roundtrip, or multi location.

Factors Affecting the Price

  1. Hourly Rate

For their various vehicles, a lot of luxury limousines rental services run with an hourly rate with a minimum number of hours required to book. This is because most companies know that when booking is fewer than 3 or 4 hours, it is not cost-effective for them. Also, the more exotic or larger the vehicle is, the higher the rate. For instance, a rental company in Dallas, Texas, charges the following rates based on the car, with a minimum of four-hour rental on weekends:

  • Standard limousine: $85 per hour
  • Stretch Hummer: $125 per hour
  1. Set Rates

There are also some companies that have certain rates for drop-off and pickup services including to and from sports games or concerts. However, this pricing doesn’t apply to prom night. For instance, a rental company in Denver charges around $400 for pickup and drop-off at one location in a Lincoln Town Car stretch limousine with 10 seating.

  1. Time of the Day

Generally, evening rentals require a higher number of minimum hours or have higher hourly rates than daytime rentals. This is because the demand is much greater during evenings. Most parties are held in the evening such as proms and other special occasions.

  1. Day of the Week

Generally, limo rentals during the weekends are more in demand than rentals during weekdays. Because of this, the hourly cost and sometimes the minimum number of hours required to rent on Fridays and Saturdays increases.

  1. Gratuity

The driver’s gratuity may be included in the bill or it may be up to the passenger’s discretion, depending on the rental company. So, always clarify beforehand. Some rental company set things up in order for the passengers to add the tip after paying by credit card. However, the company also encourages their customers to tip the driver in cash whenever possible. 20% is normal for a well-done job.

  1. Cleaning charge

The rental cost increases whenever the rental company has to offer cleaning or maintenance that are out-of-the-ordinary. This includes repairing damage to the interior and exterior of the vehicle or windows and cleaning up vomit. The cost depends on the extent of the damage. The company charges customers for all damages if repairs are needed.
